I will fear no evil; valley of the shadow of death

I Will Fear No Evil

Posted on January 18, 2021January 13, 2021 by James Williams

As I journey through the valley,
I see setting sun,
Darkness closes in on me,
I have nowhere to run.

Hidden in the darkness,
Enemies abound,
In the valley of the shadow,
Death is all around.

No more rays of light or hope,
Why did He lead me here?
I hear a distant, still small voice,
“My child have no fear.”

His promise seems so distant,
My enemies so near,
How can I walk this valley,
Without giving in to fear?

They’re lurking in the shadows,
Destruction is their plight,
The darkness hates to be exposed,
They seek shade the light.

They hate it when you speak the truth,
In a voice that’s clear and loud,
For only in the chaos,
Can they manipulate the crowd.

Truth travels slowly,
Rumors spread much faster,
What else should I expect?
They did this to my Master.

Behind the scenes they scheme and plot,
To set a trap for me,
Their public image is all smiles,
And pleas for unity.

Though the valley’s dark and frightful,
I will have no fear,
Though enemies surround me,
I know my Shepherd’s here.

His rod and staff they comfort me,
And defends from their plans,
My God is a strong tower,
None can pluck me from His hands.

He has purpose for this dark path,
Beyond what I can see.
As he leads me through this valley,
I’ll rest in His mercy.

Though the valley’s dark and frightful,
I will have no fear,
Though enemies surround me,
I know my Shepherd’s here.
