A skyscraper shows signs of an architect, so does creation.

Perfect Precision

Posted on August 4, 2025August 3, 2025 by James Williams

I live in a small town without skyscrapers. While I wouldn’t trade rural living for city life, I do enjoy occasional visits to view the architectural wonders that big cities have to offer. These concrete towers reach up and tickle the clouds and seem certain to collide with passing airplanes. Whether it’s an older, brick building with a hundred floors of symmetrical windows, or a tower of tinted glass, each building bears its unique design that highlights the personality and creativity of its architect.

These tall towers stand firm in the sky without fear of falling, thus anyone can see there was design, intentionality, and skill involved in their creation. Nobody could be convinced that piles of brick and glass accidentally collided together in perfect symmetry that provided both beauty and stability. Should all the proper materials be dumped in a pile at random, they would never fall into a complete structure with such precision, even after several billion attempts.

Yet, many who see the obvious work of a designer in these beautiful skyscrapers can’t see the obvious intentionality in the rest of creation. Fifty perfectly placed windows of a building communicate a creator, but so does the way an eye converts light to electrical signals and processes that information in the brain so we can see. Strong beams of steel are designed to give structure to buildings that reach the sky, and likewise thirty-three vertebrae stack together to form a flexible but stable structure for the human body.

I marvel at the grand design that allows a skyscraper to hold strong despite strong winds and the continual pull of gravity. Yet, focus in on any aspect of creation, and you’ll be just as amazed at the intelligent thought and design behind it. The way the earth rotates around the sun to give us seasons and keep us from burning or freezing to death. The intricate process that allows a human to hear and interpret sound. The delicate, complex balance of entire ecosystems that are fundamental to life. From the largest galaxies to the tiniest cells, all of creation displays a precision that simply cannot be accidental.

Just like steel and glass didn’t randomly form a skyscraper by chance, so when you examine the world and the universe it’s clear there was design, intentionality, and skill involved in its creation. There’s simply too much evidence to deny the fingerprints of a powerful, intelligent designer.
