From the blog this week: A Time For Everything
“For the past few weeks, apostasy has been a trending topic among Christians. Though the discussion has been spurred by the sad news of some well-known men revoking their Christian faith, the discussion is bringing about the positive effect of engaging a crucial but neglected subject. (Apostasy refers to people falling away from previously held Christian beliefs.)”
How do you distinguish between primary and secondary theological issues?
“Are you walking in the desert, the parched land of unrealized dreams and failed expectations? Or does life feel more like the wilderness, where weeds and thorns have overtaken you, where the cares of this world suffocate and oppress you?”
“Most guys feel like they are good dads if they provide food and shelter for their families. But even possums give their offspring food and shelter. Is this the bar we want to set for manhood?”
“Better than anything impressive that you could accomplish in this life, your life story is a biography of wisdom and grace written by Another. Every twist of the plot is for the best. Every turn he writes into your story is right. Every new character or unexpected event is a tool of his grace. Each new chapter advances his purpose.”
